There are various known symptoms for this condition though there are types that its not that obvious for people to see, specially for parents because its common for children. Difficulty in staying focus achieving goals with requiring determination and i think this symptom should be focused on and needs sufficient time for their guardians to understand. Another is paying attention, most likely be related to staying focus but its more of basically listening and responding and this problem affects specially when they are in school and other places requiring them to be attentive and alert on some level normal people would do. Every condition i think most specially ADD just requires understanding being aware and informed to be able to reach out, help out and basically care. Instead of making fun of the things we dont understand its better to be knowleadgeable of other people's condition.
For children , there are some key symptoms or should i say key behaviours or ADD, it is quite normal for kids to be innatenttive, thats why i mention that its not always obvious, its normal for kids to be hyperactive and at time impulsive i mean, the natural behaviour of children that mostly wants only to have fun and play. Though children with ADD these behaviours are more drastic and more often, the occurance is high. Taking considerations on how sometimes they behave differently with other people around whether with new friends at school or people that are complete stangers to them. Being easily distracted, missing on details on task or assignments , keeps on frequently forgetting things, and more often switching from one activity to another. Struggling to focus on a certain topic or an activity is one major part of having ADD. And getting bored instantly of a task assign to them after only after a few moments or minutes unless they are doing a more enjoyable activity. Most children with ADD in a way suffers the difficulty of not completing assignments, often misplacing their things such as pencils, small stuff, personal things and some valuables. Communication is always a bit of an issue for them not seem to reply or responnd when spoken to and it leads to struggling in following instructions.
